On November 9th, a reporter from Guangzhou Daily · New Flower City learned from Guangzhou Port Group that Guangzhou Gangliangtong Company has successfully obtained the qualification of a designated delivery warehouse for pulp futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange. The first batch of approved storage capacity of 15000 tons has been put into use, and it is operated by Guangzhou Gangliangtong Company in cooperation with Guangzhou Zhongwu Storage International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd. This is the first pulp futures delivery warehouse in South China.

According to the relevant person in charge of Guangzhou Port Group, futures delivery refers to the process of both parties transferring ownership of the goods contained in the futures contract to settle the outstanding positions at the expiration of the futures contract. There are two types of delivery methods: cash delivery and physical delivery. Setting up a pulp delivery warehouse at the dock can promote the upgrading of upstream and downstream pulp related industries, facilitate nearby storage by various manufacturers in the area, reduce roundabout transportation, reduce inventory turnover days, and reduce logistics costs for manufacturers.

It is reported that the establishment of a pulp futures delivery warehouse requires strict review, with high requirements for the convenience, hardware strength, operational management, production operations, safety measures, and other aspects of the delivery warehouse. The establishment of the pulp futures delivery warehouse this time is a concrete practice of Guangzhou Port Group's in-depth implementation of the "Guangzhou Nansha Deepening Comprehensive Cooperation Plan for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao towards the World", continuous enhancement of the international logistics hub function, and active integration into the commodity financial market.
